“Tenebrae Once Again” was going to be premiered on the 4th of April in Deutchlandfunks “Forum neue Musik”, which this year’s topic was “do we want to overcome death?”.

I based the piece on “O vos Omnes” from Tomás Luis de Victoria’s “Tenebrae Responsories”, which is music composed to be sung on Easter. In my piece, a group of walking musicians let Victoria’s Music sound sometimes very clear, sometimes blurred, as bringing the audience near and far to this ancient ritual of Christ’s Death and Passion. Which music should accompany the death? How long will this rituals still exist?
