intorno a due vermiglie

Intorno a due vermiglie is a piece based on Monteverdi’s Madrigal under the same name.  The piece was composed and premiered in Festival Vang 2019 in Madrid, Centro Centro Concert hall. The proposal to do this work was to compose actually a Soprano Soloist line which should be sung together when the choir sings the Madrigal.

Like happens quite often in my work, I decided to work with Ancient Music but in my own “contemporary” language. But this time I chose to treat the piece with material that comes purely from the Madrigal and don’t really add anything else.

Also this piece was composed thinking mainly in the concert situation in Madrid, so considering the oder pieces that would be played.
